Owatrol D-2 oil varnish is flexible film that does not crack, peel or flake. High gloss finish. Highly transparent varnish – enhances the natural beauty of the wood and offers long term protection. No sanding between coats, Easy maintenance. Where to use: Exotic hardwoods (Teak, Ipe, Mahogany, Movingui, Bangkirai etc.) new or weathered. Exterior: garden furnitures, window and door frames, gates etc. Interior: paneling, door, window frames etc. Boats – all applications above waterline. Coverage: 15 m²/l. Application temperature: + 8° C to + 35° C. Drying: 12 h. (between each layer) – Working time: 3 days. Wood must first be treated with Owatrol D-1. Wood must be clean, dry and free of all contamination. Owatrol D-2 is very slippery and is not suitable for use in areas where it will be walked on (i.e. decks) – use Owatrol D-1 only for these areas. Do not Thin. Allow to dry minimum 3-4 days before putting back into service. Note: Clean any dripping or spots of D-2 from surface before the product dries. Once dry, spots will form and will be very hard to eliminate. It is therefore imperative to eliminate any spots right after the application.
